Hello beautiful people! Thanks for checking out the 14th gratitude journal entry. Today, I’m grateful for the ability to speak!
“Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.”
-Henry Ward Beecher
Aren’t you happy that you can speak? I am. So much of the world’s population cannot speak as we do. We don’t even think about speaking. It’s as simple as opening our mouths and the words come pouring out. Some of us talk way too much, but that’s another subject for another blog post.
Think about all the times you tried to speak but allergies had your throat feeling scratchy and sore. Perhaps, your voice sounded so unfamiliar… frog stuck in your throat and it hurts!! Nobody appreciates a sore throat or being hoarse but those are such minor inconveniences compared to not having the ability to speak.
Sure, there are times we may trip over our words, stutter, experience difficulty pronouncing some words, etc but we still have the ability to speak.
Now think about all the people who actually cannot speak. They were either born that way, suffered some kind of trauma, brain injury or illness, be it physical or psychological. They’d love the ability to express themselves the way we do. Think of how we take our ability to speak for granted. Have you ever thought about what life would be like without the power of your speech?
Again, I ask. Aren’t you grateful that you can speak? I certainly am!
What are you most grateful for? Express gratitude every chance you get.
Until tomorrow, my dears!
